Query from bibcodes
This page is devoted to help querying the references in Simbad.
Here is a documentation of what is the SIMBAD bibliography content.
There are three ways of finding references in Simbad:
- Using criteria : any combination of a list of journals, year range, author names
and words from the titles can be used to retrieve references.
The link to the Find an author page
allows to retrieve the right name of a given author; known only partially or even
phonetically. This last facility generates some noise but may be useful.
Once a name is retrieved, it can be used on the regular bibliography query page, or
for retrieving all the author's references by selecting the name in the list.
- Writing a
bibcode
: it can be written either completely, either using wildcards
or by filling any of the given fields. Not all of them need to be filled. Of course,
in this case several references may be returned.
- Querying references from a file: prepare a local file containing one bibcode/line
and submit it.
